"No wonder we should only (5)       the kites in the park," one of the students said after he saw a real spark (火花) when the model kite (6)       the lines.

17. Many people think heroes need to be handsome, rich, or very smart. But as for me, a hero is a person who always helps others. My hero is Uncle Bill. He is the oldest son of a worker, an he grew up in a poor family with four younger brothers and two little sisters.
He was good at neither writing nor maths. In fact, he never did well in school. So he had to give up school at a very young age. He worked and gave all his money to help his parents. When he was getting older, he found that he was very interested in fixing things. He collected broken things which people threw away and fixed them. He could fix almost everything that did not work. He worked hard and never gave up. Finally, he opened his own repair shop. It took him about 20 years to become a successful shopkeeper.
Now, he is very rich and has four shops. But he never forgets the days when he had nothing. He gives money to poor families, helps poor kids buy books and offers them free lunch. He also encourages people to reuse things. He always says, "Make good use of what you have because we just have one earth."
I am proud of Uncle Bill. He is really a hero.
18. Sometimes people come into your life and you know at once that they were sure to be there. They serve some certain purpose, teach you a lesson or help find out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be:your classmate, neighbor, teacher, long-lost friend or even a real stranger. But you know that every moment they will influence your life in some serious way.
Sometimes things happen to you. At the time they may seem terrible, painful and unfair. But later you realize that without overcoming those difficulties, you would have never realized your further ability and advantages. Everything happens for a reason and nothing happens by chance or with good or bad luck.
The people you meet influence your life, and the success and failure you experience create who you are. Even the bad experience can be learned from. In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
Enjoy every day even every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again. Talk to people whom you have never talked to before, and really listen. You should set your goals high, hold your head up, tell yourself you are a great one and believe in yourself.
You can make your life anything you wish. Create your own life and then go out and live it.
19. When you are learning English, you find it not clever to put an English sentence, word for word, into your own language. Take the sentence "How do you do?" as example. If you look up each word in the dictionary, once at a time, what is your translation? It must be a wrong sentence in your own language.
Languages do not just have different sounds, they are different in many ways. It's important to master (掌握) the rules for word order (顺序) in the study of English, too. If the speakers put words in a wrong order, the listener can't understand his sentence easily. Sometimes when the order of words in an English sentence is changed, the meaning of the sentence changes. But sometimes the order is changed, the meaning of the sentence doesn't change. Let's see the difference between the two pairs of sentences.
"She only likes apples." "Only she likes apples. "
"I have seen the film already." "I have already seen the film"
When you are learning English, you must do your best to get the spirit of the language and use it as the English speaker does.

When they are camping, they live in the woods or parks and do everything for themselves for a few days to relax. For example, they can have a picnic and make all their food themselves. Barbecues (烧烤) are very popular. They bring meat and vegetables and make a fire by themselves. When the fire is ready, they can cook food over it. Besides meat and vegetables, they can also cook many other foods with the fire.
Children really like this activity at night. All the family sit around the fire, eat delicious and drink hot chocolate. Everyone can sing songs and dance together.
Camping is a fun activity for the family to do. Holidays don't have to mean going to visit places faraway. It could be going to the woods or parks near your houses and camping there!
