Once Mr. King was seriously hurt in an accident. Dying, he asked Charlie to take care of his daughter, Sharon. The young man (4)       and several years later he married the girl. 12. Good study habits are important for all students. When you have good study habits, you will learn faster and find you have a good memory (记忆).
Do you usually study in the living room? This is not a good place for study because it is usually too noisy. You need to study in a quiet place, such as your bedroom. A quiet place will help you learn better.
Before you begin to study, do not forget to clean your desk. It helps you study well, too. Light (光线) is important, too. You will feel tired easily if there is not enough light.
Of all the good study habits you can develop, asking questions is the key. Just ask. No one knows everything, but we can always learn from each other by asking questions.
One simple but important habit is to tell yourself what you're studying for. Put your dream grades (理想的分数) on the wall next to your bed or computer means (意味着) you'll see and think about it every day.
When do you work best? Are you an early bird, a night owl (猫头鹰), or something in between? Find your most productive work time, and then plan to study at this time.

One day, Nick was surprised to see his father at home in the evening. "Dad, can I ask you a question?" Nick said. "Yes, dear," said the man. "Dad, can you tell me how much you earn (挣) in an hour?" Nick asked. Nick's father answered, "It is about 25 an hour." Nick ran to his room, and came out with some money. He said, "Dad, I have 50. Can you spare (抽出) two hours for me? It sounds convenient that people around the world speak the same language, dress in the same style, eat the same food and play the same games. If the world was like this, you won't feel strange in any corner of world. But just imagine living in such a strange world. How dull (无聊的) and colorless it would be!
Different kinds of food that people can taste, the colorful and fashionable clothes that we dress in and different languages we speak are all part of the different cultures that our ancestors (祖先) left us. These differences represent their creativity (创造力) and talent. And we all enjoy different cultures in our daily lives. When you travel to other places, you want to see different things. When you talk to foreigners, you expect to listen to interesting stories. These differences in culture are what make life colorful.
But the whole world is shrinking into a small village as globalization (全球化) takes effect and many different cultures are disappearing. In most big cities around the world, people wear the same clothes. Fast food stores are everywhere. Hollywood movies are kicking traditional performing arts out of our lives. The colors of our life are disappearing.
There is a joke that even the panda and zebra want to live a colorful life. So let's take action to protect our colorful culture before it becomes as simple as black and white.
It's not difficult. Learning some folk songs, trying on a traditional clothing and even eating local food instead of going to KFC can help. And we're sure you will enjoy it.

If (如果) you don't like to stay at home, you can go for a picnic or do some sports. In this way, you can keep healthy. If you like to stay at home, you may enjoy some light music or read a few novels (小说). You can play some indoor games such as chess, cards, and table tennis. You can also plant some trees and flowers in your garden to make your home beautiful. It is also a good way to keep a pet and talk to it. Just have some hobbies (爱好) and you will feel happy during a long holiday.

One day, a man came to his office. 他头疼,晚上还睡不着觉。 Doctor Ralston gave the man some careful exams. However, he found nothing wrong with the man. He said, "if you don't tell me what's worrying you, I can't help you."
The man said that he once cheated (欺骗) his friend out of his money. Then Doctor Ralston asked the man to write to his friend and give back the money. When the man put the letter into the post box, he suddenly cried, "Thank you. I think I get well."
The man spoke out his mistake and he corrected it. He picked the thorn out of his heart. He cured (治愈)himself.
