Contract of actress sparks tax investigation
Taxation departments (税务局) have been ordered to investigate (调查) so—called "yin and yang" contracts (合同) after a case involving a well—known actress Zheng Shuang came to light, first reported by CCTV.
Yin and yang contracts refer to two documents being produced for the same agreement. One expresses the parties' true plans, while the other, with a lower sum to reduce taxation, is presented to tax agencies.
Earlier this week, the Zheng's former partner and producer Zhang Heng released screenshots of online chats between him, the actress and her parents.
They were discussing Zheng's payment from an upcoming television series A Chinese Ghost Story. The screenshots suggested that Zheng was paid 160 million yuan for 77 days of filming—about 2. 08 million yuan a day—for her role in the TV drama.
Her huge paycheck quickly caused outrage on Chinese social media. Some netizens did the math. They said "a person earning 6, 000 yuan every month would have to work 2, 222 years and not spend any money to make the same amount!"

"I love to learn the Chinese language because it is very nice, important and I want to travel to China to complete my studies there, " Karim al—Areqi, a student of the private Languages Model School in Sanaa said.

"In teaching the Chinese language, I succeeded in educating students in a simple way that fits everyone, " al—Ansi said proudly, stressing that teaching Chinese has changed his life without doubt.
Al—Ansi expects that Yemen and China will work together to set up centers and schools for teaching the Chinese language in Yemen so that many young Yemenis can learn. "I hope that a branch of the Confucius Institute (孔子学院) could be built in Yemen to teach the language and spread the Chinese culture and language, " he said.
Many Yemenis see that learning a foreign language may open a way of hope to a new life, such as getting a job, making more money and paving the way to a bright future in the country that has experienced war for almost five years.
