By the Youth
When we were scared, sad and helpless, you gave us courage, warmth and hopes.
When we had to stay at home to keep away from the illness, you, workers, helped us buy living things;Leaving your children behind, you worked in the neighbourhood every day, you never complained but smiled the whole day.
When we needed all kinds of materials, you, drivers, drove them there without thinking twice; Running on the streets, between the cities, you made sure things went well as usual.
When we had coughs or fevers, you, doctors and nurses , tried your best to save our lives;Looking after the patients in the hospital day and night, you never gave up until the sick got well.
There are many people doing jobs in silence; There are many people giving hands without telling their names.
Thanks for your hard work and selflessness. You're the heroes of the times.
You're the most beautiful in our hearts.
We love you!

American schools are quite different from those in China. In America, at the beginning of the term, students must select their subjects and teachers first.
Selecting is very important for your marks in America. So at the first term, don't select too many subjects, or you'll feel very nervous and tired. Then you have to ask for some teaching plans. There is some information about subjects, time arranging, marks and textbooks. At the same time, you must choose the teachers. Different teachers have different teaching methods. If the teacher is called "killer" by the last grade, many students will give up choosing him, because this kind of teacher will leave too much homework, too many exams and give too low grades. There is another thing after you select the subjects and the teachers. How to buy textbooks makes each student feel hard. The textbooks in America are very expensive. Each one is about $30—50. In order to save money, many students buy some used textbooks, and some students usually borrow textbooks from the school library.
In class, discussing is very important. The teacher encourages you to ask questions or show your own opinions. They don't usually ask you to sit well. Instead they allow you to sit or stand everywhere you like.

▲ Master some basic life skills. You will live an independent life one day. Therefore, you should learn some necessary and useful basic life skills such as washing clothes and cooking. At the same time, you should help your parents with housework to express thanks to them.
▲ Go travelling. The world is like a book. Those who don't travel only read one page of the book. Travelling is so interesting. Have you made your own plan? If not, do it at once. During the trip, you will have a chance to get more knowledge. While learning about different cultures and customs, you will also make a lot of friends.
▲ Enjoy the time with family members. Family members play an important role in your life. They give you love, care and support all the time. Don't forget to spare some time together with them. You will find it great to stay with them, talking about dreams, hobbies or anything you like.
As long as you follow the advice mentioned above, you will have a wonderful vacation.
5. If you've ever taken a bus, you've probably found someone sleeping in the seat near you. Maybe this even happens to you. You might think you need more coffee, but it won't help much.
The natural vibration (振动) of buses and subways makes us feel sleepy, according to a new story in Science Alert.
Why? It's all about the information going to your brain. On a bus, your senses give you continuous (持续的) and repeating information. For example, the air conditioner and engine (引擎) create continuous white noise. At the same time, you're sitting still and the things around you don't change. The vibrations of the engine are also continuous. Your brain has almost no new information to deal with.
The repeating information will make your brain enter a low—energy state. The fact that you fall asleep quickly when closing your eyes on a bus is because your brain gets used to all of it.
"When you're tired, it doesn't take much to start nodding off. But we've found that as you drive, the gentle vibrations made by car seats can make you sleepy, " said Stephen Robinson, a researcher from the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
Robinson's team invited 15 volunteers to do a test. They were required to sit in a driving machine. And the researchers kept watching their HRV (心率变异度)—a well—known indicator (标志) of sleepiness. Over the course of two 60—minute periods, volunteers were tested once with vibrations and once without. In the period with vibrations, their HRVs were much lower compared with the period without vibrations. During 15 minutes, volunteers showed signs of sleepiness. During 30 minutes, that sleepiness was very easy to be noticed, increasing up until the end of the test.
This line of research can offer help in the development of the car industry. Robinson believed the research could be helpful for improving road safety. "We hope that future car seats can be built to fight against vibration and to make the sleepiness weaker, " he said.
6. Too many people want others to be their friends, but they don't give friendship back. That is why some friendships don't last very long. (1)      You must learn to treat your friend the way you want your friend to treat you. Learning to be a good friend means learning three rules: be honest; be generous (慷慨的); be understanding.
Honesty is where a good friendship starts. Friends must be able to trust one another. If you don't tell the truth, people usually find out. If a friend finds out that you haven't been honest, you may lose your friend's trust (2)
Generosity means sharing and sharing makes a friendship grow. You don't have to give your lunch money or your clothes, of course. Instead you have to learn how to share things you enjoy, your hobbies and interests. Naturally you will want to share your ideas and feelings. (3)      They tell your friend what is important to you. By sharing them you help your friend know you better.
Sooner or later everyone needs understanding and help with a problem. Something may go wrong at school. Talking about the problem can make it easier to solve.
