3. One morning more than thirty years ago, I entered the Track Kitchen, a restaurant where everyone from the poor to the most powerful came for breakfast. I noticed an empty chair next to an elder, short man, whose hair was disorder. He was wearing an old hat and was alone. I asked if I might join him. He agreed quietly and I sat down to have my breakfast.
We carefully began a conversation and spoke about a lot of things. We never introduce ourselves. I thought that he might have no money and not be able to afford something to eat. So as I rose to go back to the counter and buy a second cup of coffee. I asked, "May I get you something?"
  "A coffee would be nice."
Then I bought him a cup of coffee. We talked more, and he accepted another cup of coffee. Finally I rose to leave, wished him well, and went to the exit. At the door I met one of my friends. He asked, "How did you get to know Mr. Galbreath?"
  "Who?"
"The man you were sitting with. He is chairman of the Board of Churchill Downs."
I could hardly believe it. I was talking, buying coffee, offering a free breakfast, and feeling pity for one of the world's richest and most powerful men!
My few minutes with Mr. Galbreath changed my life. Now I try to treat everyone with respect, no matter who I think they are, and to meet another human being with kindness and sincerity.
4. The following are some people's opinions on using cell phones.
I believe that cell phones are not to be used while driving. One site said that talking on a cell phone while driving had the same results of drunk driving accidents! Also I think it is very impolite to use your phone in a public place! Once I was in a doctor's office, and people were very quiet. A woman's cell phone started ringing. After what seemed a million rings, she started to talk on her little "toy", annoying everyone.
——Chelsea from the US
The cell phone would be a great thing if we used it in the right way. Unfortunately most of us don't use it in the right way because we talk with our friends for hours and hours, and that's something we can do better if we have a coffee together. The use of the cell phone in this way is dangerous for the development of good communication. We need to think twice about how we are using cell phones.
——Graciela Flores form Mexico
Once when I was studying in the library, I was reading my book. Suddenly, a cell phone rang. I was so annoyed because those students didn't have good manners in public. I looked at them in anger, but they didn't pay attention. Nowadays, many young students use cell phones everywhere in my country just for talking to their friends. It keeps students from studying.
——Seung-Hye Lee from Korea
I think cell phones should be banned (禁止) in cars and airplanes. It is very clear that people's attention is diverted (分散) if they talk on cell phones while they are driving. The number of car accidents caused by drivers using cell phones has risen. So people should not use them when they are driving. Also, it is dangerous to use them in airplanes because the phone signals can interrupt the airplane's signal system.
——Yian Ma from China
5. Born in 1954 in Taiwan, Ang Lee (李安) has become one of today's greatest filmmakers. Ang graduated from the National Taiwan College of Arts in 1975. Later on, he went to the USA for further study on art. And he got a Master Degree in Film Production at New York University.
During Ang's film career, he has made a lot of successful films and honored himself with many international awards. Early in 1993, Ang's film The Wedding Banquet (喜宴) won a Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, which drew the whole world's attention to this Chinese director. In the following years, Ang's talent got more brilliant. At the beginning of 2000, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (卧虎藏龙), a kungfu film directed by Ang Lee, won Best Foreign Language Film at the 73rd Academy Awards (奥斯卡金像奖). This surprised the world. However, what really takes Ang to the peak of the film world is the film Brokeback Mountain (2005). For this film, Ang Lee won the Best Director Academy Award. And he is the first Chinese director who's ever won the golden statuette (小金人).
In 2012, Ang made a huge success again. His first 3D film Life of Pi came out. It was a story about the adventure of a brave Indian boy. This film helped him beat out Michael Haneke of "Amour", Benh Zeitlin of "Beasts of the Southern Wild", Steven Spielberg of "Lincoln" and David O. Russell of "Silver Linings Playbook". For the second time, Ang was honored as the Best Director at the 85th Academy Awards in 2013.
Along Ang Lee's film road, we can say that he is really born for films and he is worth all the praise from the world, especially all the Chinese.

To take care of these homeless dogs, we need enough money and food and of course towels for cleaning them and cars for sending them to their new homes. Because too many dogs should be looked after, we are often so busy that some part-time workers are needed to help us. If possible, we also hope that animal doctors will offer to come to visit the sick dogs.
