Why do people travel? "To see more of the world," many people would say. But travelling abroad now means much more than that for the growing number of Chinese tourists. Of course it offers us good opportunities to meet people from other countries, and learn about their culture and customs.
According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Chinese people usually join large tourist groups and visit several countries in one trip. Japan, Thailand and Russia are the most popular countries while Hong Kong is losing its shine in Chinese eyes.
Chinese people don't just travel for sightseeing. The China International Travel Service Company said that all their tour trips sold out a month before Christmas Day. Stores offered discounts (打折) during that time, so shopping in Europe and the United States is popular among Chinese travellers.
In December, China is going through a very cold winter. So many people like to go to some countries in Southeast Asia because the weather there is quite pleasant. The improvement of living standards means more Chinese can travel abroad. But some of them don't have a sense of public manners. A report by Living Social website in March even listed Chinese as the world's second worst tourists.
If you want to change that bad name, remember to avoid the following: littering, spitting, snatching bus seats, line-jumping, talking loudly and smoking in non-smoking areas. Besides, we should learn some necessary manners of foreign countries.

His fingers move slowly under each letter as he tried to read out. Every time he managed to read a word, the biggest smile would spread across his face and his eyes would shine with (4)      .
Before the year ended, I gave Ronny a book—one of those Little Golden Books that only cost $5. A few days later, I noticed Ronny on a chair near the playground, the book open in his lap (大腿). His teacher said, "He hasn't put that book down since you gave it to him. Actually, that's his first book he's ever owned." Keeping back my tears, I walked towards Ronny and asked, "Will you read me your book?" To my surprise, he read to me more (5)       than I'd ever thought. The pages were already dog-eared, like the book had been read thousands of times. When he finished reading, Ronny closed his book and said with great satisfaction, "Good book!"

When he got close to the wise man's hut, he asked his bodyguards to wait behind. He found the wise man digging. He asked the wise man his three questions, but the wise man didn't respond. Seeing how old the wise man was, the king helped him dig. The king dug for hours, but the wise man never said anything.
