Mr. Guo is a teacher from Xi'an. He asked his students to hand in their homework through a QR code (二维码). "We spent an hour or two in class learning how to generate (使产生) the codes, and in the end everything gets easier," said Guo. "When students finish the homework, they keep it on WeChat. Then, each student makes his own QR code and gives it to me. So I can check their work anywhere using my computer or mobile phone."
The QR codes can be sent to Mr. Guo by email, QQ and WeChat. When Guo scans (扫扬) his students' QR codes, their homework appears on his phone. He finds that their homework becomes more creative, with many pictures, music and even videos.
Guo's students like the new way and think it is interesting. "We are living in the information age. Many students like to work with computers, which makes learning more fun, " said Tinging, a students of Guo's.
"The paper is not easy to keep, but the code is easy to keep and share, "Guo said. "It is worth trying to use new technology in education. Education itself is a kind of creation. I don't want my students to fall behind the times."
However, some parents are worried. They are afraid that their children will spend too much time on computers and less time communicating with teachers. But in fact, it's unnecessary. Students still need to lookup information in books and write it down when they do their homework. They only use the codes when they hand in their work, which doesn't take them too much time. Also for teachers, it allows them to check the students' work at any time. And it's also an easy way to share homework with other students.
4. One does not find many outdoor cafes in Great Britain, for the weather there often changes during the day. When British people want to have some drinks either with a group of friends or by themselves, they usually go to a pub. "Pub" is the short form for" public house". In a pub people can buy all kinds of drinks, from beer to orange juice. The Englishmen's favorite drink is beer.
Quite a lot of businessmen have lunch in pubs near their offices because in many pubs fast food is served. There may even be a restaurant in a pub. The food they sell is usually cheap and good. In the countryside the pub is often part of an inn —a kind of small hotels. People can stay there for the night.
The opening time of pubs is set by law. It might be different from place to place, but usually a pub is open from 11:30 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. and from 5:30 p. m. to 10:30 or 11:00 p. m. In the old days, children were not allowed to enter pubs, because when people drank too much they could become troublesome. Today, however, more and more pubs are opening their gardens to customers, so that the children can play safely in the garden while their parents are having a quick drink.
Generally speaking, the English pub is a friendly place, and offers good drinks and food.
5. When the days grew long in the middle of summer, Lisa liked to go to the park and watch the clouds.
One day, Lisa saw a cloud that looked like a standing dragon. After a few minutes, it became a flying dragon. Then it seemed to change direction. 6. Have you ever bought Genki Forest (元气森林) sparkling water because its advertised as "sugar-free"? The company recently said that they were sorry for a misleading advertisement.
The company said the drinks are "sucrose-free (零蔗糖)", but this is not the same as "sugar-free". Now the company has changed the words "sugar﹣free" to "low sugar" on the bottles.
In fact, there are many kinds of sugar. Sucrose is just one of them. Other kinds of sugar, such as fructose (果糖) and sugar alcohol (糖醇), are still in Genki Forest drinks. These types of sugar are used as sweeteners (甜味剂). They offer little energy, but a small amount of them can make drinks taste sweet. That's why low﹣sugar drinks like Genki Forest are popular among people who want to lose weight. They believe that they can not only enjoy sweet drinks but also avoid taking in too much sugar.
However, studies find that the sweeteners might make people eat more. When you eat sweet﹣tasting things, they send your brain a "sweet signal". Then your brain tells your body to prepare itself to take in energy. But since the low﹣sugar soft drink has little energy, the brain will not receive what it is expecting. AI this time, yow will feel hungry and tart getting energy by eating more food. .
According to China Daily, drinking too many low-sugar drinks might lead to fatness and many other diseases. It's time for you to think twice when you want to keep up with the fashion.
