◆Be careful with illness and medications. Respiratory (呼吸的) illnesses should be treated to avoid their spread to the ears. Certain medications can hurt hearing, so follow the directions carefully before taking them. See your doctor if you suffer from sudden hearing loss or hear noises in your head. These can be symptoms of a serious illness which needs to be treated.

Later the masks evolved into colored masks, which were the predecessors (前身) of facial makeup used in Peking Opera, the most central form of Chinese opera.
  The facial makeup is a special way of portrayal (肖像) in the traditional Chinese opera. The art of facial makeup contains a lot about Chinese culture. It is now becoming more popular with many young people starting to honor the beauty of Chinese opera.
  Main characters in Peking Opera are Sheng, Dan, Jing and Chou. Sheng represents the male roles. Dan represents the female roles. Jing is a rather complex male character that has various characteristics, such as rude, heroic, and sacred. Chou, meaning clown, represents the comic role.
  Besides, the art of facial makeup uses different colors to represent different personalities. Red represents trusty and brave; white represents doubtful and snaky; black represents righteous and selfless.
