15.  A picture is worth a thousand words, but it can't always tell the whole story. The sailor in the iconic (经典的) photo V-J Day in Times Square, George Mendonsa, died last month at age 95.
  On Aug 14, 1945, Japan surrendered (投降) to the United States, ending World War II. American photo journalist Alfred Eisenstaedt took his camera to the streets of New York. In Times Square, people were celebrating the victory everywhere.
  "I saw a sailor running along the street grabbing (抓住)any and every girl in sight. Whether she was a grandmother, stout (健壮的), thin, old, didn't make a difference," Eisenstaedt said.
He then took the photo, which later became one of the most famous photos in history. But Eisenstaedt forgot to ask for the pair's names!
  Since then, many have claimed (声称) to be the people in the photo. One book, The Kissing Sailor, contains every detail of the photo, as well as interviews with people in the background of the photo. The authors stated that Greta Zimmer Friedman, a dentist's assistant, was the woman pictured.
  Mendonsa has his own account of that day. According to him, he and his friends were in a theater at the time. People burst in(进来), shouting that the war was over. They then ran out and joined the street celebration in Times Square.
  Although it was quite sudden, Friedman, who died in 2016, said she didn't mind the kiss. "It was just somebody really celebrating…it wasn't a romantic (浪漫的) event. It was just…'thank God the war is over.'"

For example, sunglasses are not just fashion but they can also serve as a great way to protect your eyesight from UV rays.
  Eating healthy foods will do good to your eyesight. Remember that vitamins (维生素) A、C and E are good for eyes. Try to eat food groups that have these vitamins. And you should do eye exercises because exercise protects your eyesight, too. If a person exercises regularly (规律地) and eat s the right kind of food, his eyes will stay in good condition for a long time.
  All above are natural ways of eye care that help us keep healthy eyes. Being happy all the time can be helpful to a person's eyesight, too. In a word, eye care is very important, no matter how old a person is.
