We (2)      the first part without problems. Then it started to snow and the rocks became slippery. All of a sudden, as I was helping my brother down a huge rock, he slipped and fell into a pool. Night was coming and the temperature was falling but my brother couldn't move. Feeling helpless, I decided to head for the (4)      camp for help, so I left James with some warm clothing and the rest of the food. At one point I got lost, wasting precious hours.
At two-thirty the following afternoon, I finally arrived at the camp. The (5)      had taken twenty-two hours and I was exhausted and starving. 35. Impatient people are often seen as proud and self-important. Being impatient can affect your relationships at work and at home negatively (有害地). People will sense anger from you and not like(1)d       with you if you are impatient. They might even come to avoid you completely.
Impatient people are often seen as making quick decisions as they don't let people communicate fully or find out all the facts first. When you notice you are impatient, you can find some ways to overcome them. Here are two ways that may help you.
Because impatient people are often (2)b      and hate to waste time, they sometimes don't leave extra time for small mistakes. This means that, if they need to be somewhere, they are always doing other tasks (3)t       the last minute. They don't leave extra time in case a bus is late, they can't find their car keys or some other (4)p       appear. When you need to get somewhere, especially if it is somewhere important, give yourself some extra time. If you arrive early, you can relax or do something then.
Be prepared. If being hungry gets you impatient, keep a health bar with you at all times. If you hate sitting around waiting, see to some business on your phone or keep a book to read handy at all times. If you know that you might be (5)s       in traffic or wait at the airport, think about what you might need to pass the time. A game might be helpful or even something as (6)s      as a pen and paper to write a letter.
Sometimes patience is about changing our attitude to our place in the world. Don't believe that your time is more important than (7)a       else's. You can learn you control the emotions you feel when you are impatient and so become a person who is both easier to get on with and enjoys life more.

A few months ago, I interviewed Max, an animal trainer. He was teaching a dolphin to do a back flip. Every time the dolphin jumped out of the water, even a little, Max would reward it with some food. When the dolphin did something else, Max would just ignore it. At first the dolphin kept swimming round the pool and having fun. But slowly, it learned that when it jumped, it got a reward. After a few days the dolphin was jumping high enough to do a somersault (空翻). It had learned the first part of the trick.
I was fascinated. I kept thinking about how Max had trained that dolphin …and then I began to wonder if the same skills might work with my husband, Dylan. He was always leaving dirty washing on the floor and he often used to forget arrangements that we'd made. I nagged (埋怨) him but he ignored me. The piles of washing just got bigger and he would forgot even more arrangements. His bad habits didn't use to trouble me but now they were driving me mad!
So I decided to copy the dolphin trainer. I praised Dylan when he put anything in the washing basket, even if it was just one sock or when he remembered any arrangement, even if he got the wrong day. Slowly, the piles of dirty washing became smaller and his memory got better. I was so pleased that I told Dylan about my 'training'. He looked thoughtful.
A few days later my computer didn't work again. It was continuously crashing and I called Dylan in a panic. The first thing he said was, 'Well done, Jenny, you haven't made a drama out of this. You used to shout at me'. Suddenly, I felt calm. I liked his praise. Then I realized what was happening. He ____________.
