He found out a way to attach (固定) his wheelchair to a roping system that allowed him to climb again.
In 2016, Mr. Lai climbed Lion Rock in Hong Kong. It's a 1, 624-foot climb that he had done many times before his accident. Mr Lai said climbing Lion Rock again made him realize that he could still climb successfully.
On January 16, 2021, Mr. Lai hoped to pull himself up 1, 050 feet to the top of Nina Tower, a skyscraper (摩天大楼)in Hong Kong. It was a very different challenge from climbing Lion Rock. The morning started off well enough. But by early afternoon, strong winds had come up. Still, Mr. Lai continued to pull himself up. He had to bandage his hands because they were so painful from pulling on the rope.
Finally, after climbing for 10 hours and reaching a height of about 820 feet, the winds became too strong, and Mr. Lai had to give up his goal of reaching the top. But along the way, he set a new record. "If a disabled person can shine," he said, "They can at the same time bring about hope and light, they don't have to be viewed as weak."

In Roman family life, men hold total power and that power is passed between men. The father ruled over the rest of the family and made all of the important decisions. The wife was expected to take care of the home. She also had to do whatever her husband said. Women did not have many rights. They were given some, such as the right to own property(财产), in later years.
  Most people ate simple food
Rich Romans spent quite a lot on their food. They could easily afford beef, pork, chicken and fish. They could enjoy lots of tasty food and nice wine. Poor people depended mainly on wheat, olive oil, wine and vegetables. Some people who owned cows and chickens also added eggs, milk and cheese.

Most of the world's cocoa beans come from two countries in West Africa. These countries are Ivory Coast and Ghana. Ivory Coast and Ghana also have the biggest problems with. deforestation. Mighty Earth is a group that works to protect the environment. It worries what will happen if nothing changes. The group said Ivory Coast's forests could be gone by 2030.
Salam Sawadougou is a cocoa farmer in Ivory Coast. His farm is in the Mount Tia protected forest. His farm has no more big trees. Only gray tree stumps (树桩) remain. "I burned it little by little," Sawadougou says. He explained that his cocoa needed full sun to grow.
Meanwhile, scientists say farmers will miss the trees. Their shade would have protected the cocoa plants from increasingly dry seasons. The dry seasons are the result of cutting down the forests. Sadly, farmers do not have many choices. They do not make much money because many farmers are paid too little. Most cannot even afford to buy a bar of chocolate.
