Hi, everyone!
I have reading all kinds of novels and it seems that nowadays more and more people are buying e-readers. So I am wondering if anyone here has any experience of one. Should I buy one? Omar
Hi. Omar!
For people who love reading, e-readers are great for a number of reasons. An -reader can hold thousands of books with a SDK card and if you add a memory card. We travel a lot by train and don't always know what kind of books to bring. With an e-reader, we can choose from a number of books.
Betty
Hi. Omar!
It is true that e-reader have a lot of advantages in some ways. But I think they also have some bad influences. For example, some students read online books while they are having a class. Also, reading on an e-reader for a ling time is not good for our eyes. So I think it is not a good idea for you to buy an e-reader.

14. Singing and music play an important part in our culture. You'll find music in many part of our lives:theater, television, movies, holidays and celebrations. At home, music can become part of family culture.
From birth, parents use music to comfort children and to express love and joy. So, how can music impact (影响) children?
  The benefits (好处)of music
A study found that musical experiences in childhood can improve brain development, especially in language learning and reading skills. According to the NAMM foundation, learning to play an instrument can improve math learning and even help students get higher SAT scores.
Also, music is good for all areas of child development and the skills they need to get ready for school. It helps the body and the mind work together. Music helps young children learn the sounds and meanings of words. Dancing to music helps children build sports skills. What's more, music brings us joy. Just think about listening to a good song in the car with the window down on a beautiful day — that's joy.
Music games for school-age children and teens
Most young school-age children are interested in kids' sing along songs (跟唱曲) with counting, selling, or remembering. They also begin expressing their likes and dislikes for different kinds of music. They may express an interest in music learning, such as taking singing or instrument lessons.
Teens may use musical experiences to make friends and to be different from parents and younger kids. They often want to go out and listen to music after school with a group of friends. Teens often have a strong interest in taking music lessons or playing in a band.
There is no downside (负面影响) to bringing children and music together through fun games. We are able to enjoy the benefits of music from the moment we're born. A good piece of Mozart may not improve our brain, but it's enjoyable and beautiful. From the fun of listening to music, to learning a new language and social skills, music certainly enriches the lives of children.
15. "Don't tell anyone. "We hear these words when someone tells a secret to us. But it can be hard to keep a secret. We are often tempt to "spill the beans", even if we regret it later.
According to Asim Shah, a professor at Baylor College of Medicine, US, keeping a secret may well"become a burden". This is because people often have an"obsessive (过度的) and anxious urge to share it with someone.
An earlier study, led by Anita E. Kelly, a scientist at the University of Notre Dame, US suggested that keeping a secret could cause stress. People entrusted with secrets can suffer from depression (沮丧), anxiety, and body aches, reported the Daily Mail.
But with secrets so often getting out, why do people share them at all?Shah explained that people often feel that it will help them keep a person as a friend. Another reason people share secrets is the guilt over keeping it from someone close to them. A sense of distrust can develop when people who are close do not share it with each other. "Keeping or sharing secrets often puts people in a position of either gaining or losing the trust of someone," according to Shah.
He added that talkative people could let secrets slip out. But this doesn't mean that it is a good idea only to share secrets with quiet people. A quiet person may be someone who keeps everything inside. To tell such a person a secret may cause them stress, and make them talk about the secret.
Shah said that to judge whether to tell someone a secret, you'd better put yourself in their position. Think about how you would feel to be told that you mustn't give the information away. Shah also recommended that if you accidentally give up someone's secret, you should come clean about it. Let the person know that their secret isn't so secret anymore.
16. Many students have problems with vocabulary when preparing for tests. Here is some advice on how to memorize new words. You can build up your English vocabulary with these methods...
  Repeated encounters (反复遇见)
The usual way of memorizing new words is through repeating them while they're still in your mind. However, simply repeating a word doesn't seem to be useful. But the following way is helpful:repeated encounters. Words can be memorized more easily if they've been met at least seven times in your reading. So, read English magazines and newspapers from time to time.
  Spacing (间隔) and review
It's necessary to make a plan of your memory work over a period of time. You'd better memorize words day by day instead of doing it in a single day. That's why new vocabulary introduced in one lesson is reviewed in the next, and then in later lessons.
  Use it or lose it
Putting words to use in interesting ways helps add them to your long﹣term memory. In a study of vocabulary learning, students who made up their own sentences with new words and read them aloud memorized them better than those who learned the words separately and silently. Besides, you can imagine a picture when memorizing a new word. That can help a lot.
  Mix it up (调和)
Let's face it — learning words can be really boring, but it doesn't have to be. Thanks to the Internet, there are more interesting ways to get the job done. Try watching videos from English﹣speaking countries and copying the way they speak. You can even upload (上传) your own videos and try becoming a star yourself.
